Hello Delkoo and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might try rebuilding your icon cache.

Icon Cache - Rebuild

Then take a look at customizing the notification area (old system tray.)

Hi, welcome to the forums

Your best option is to run SFC /SCANNOW to search and replace any altered system files. You can then try changing the icons again and use the SFC command to fall back on should it fail.

Hello Delkoo, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Since these are system files that you modified, you might see if running a sfc /scannow command may be able to fix them. It may take running it a couple of times.

If not, then you could do a system restore using a restore point dated before you made these changes to undo them.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I'm glad to see system restore worked. I would still run sfc /scannow. It can't hurt and it may help. Never believe their is one problem.
