Windows 7: Desktop Icons are messed up??

How do I do that?

Right click the icon on desktop.
Choose Properties, then Shortcut - click on the target once. and then ctrl+a (this will make it all selected - blue- and ctrl+c.



then go to change icon and click once where it says look for the icons and click ctrl+v and press enter. It would show the icons in there.

Did not work either.

You need to rebuild your icon cache. To do so, follow instructions:

1. Open the Windows Explorer file manager.

2. Within Windows Explorer, use the toolbar menu and click on Tools/Folder Options/View and select "Show hidden files and folders" and then on OK.

3. Using Windows Explorer, go to C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Local and right click on IconCache.db and select delete.

4. Click on Yes to confirm the deletion.

5. Close the window.

6. Empty the Recycle Bin.

7. Restart the computer.

(Don't worry about deleting the file, it regenerates itself on restart of computer)


Icon Cache - Rebuild

Delete your thumbnails at the same time through Disk Cleanup

It looks like your spyware scanner has deleted the required installation files from %systemroot%\Installer which it what windows uses to direct some installed programs to when invoking the uninstall/change/repair options from within Windows Add/remove programs

Check your quaranteen file for egui.exe and see if it's there.
