Win 7 taskbar problem

I've searched all over and can't find a fix for my problem.

All of a sudden the taskbar will not popup when I put the mouse over it. When I place the mouse over it I get the up/down arrow and I have to click where the taskbar is for it to popup.

Any solutions?

Thanks,
Dave

When you can see the Taskbar, right click on it and select Properties.
Uncheck Auto-hide the Taskbar, then click apply. The Taskbar should now be visible.
Now check Auto-hide the Taskbar and click Apply again, see if it works any better.

Well, a sure fire way to see the Taskbar is to press the Windows key. Not as clean as using the mouse but it seems to work.

Do you have a lot of icons in the Taskbar?

Maybe 20 icons in the taskbar. Pressing the Windows key does open it, but it's frustrating at times. I may do a restore to yesterdays settings and see if that fixes it.

That would probably be your best option, to restore to earlier settings. However if that still does not work might i suggest performing a system repair using the install discs.
