Windows 7: 64 bit Home Basic (confusion)

Dxdiag says - Windows 7 Home Basic (64bit)

Microsoft Website says 64 bit not supported on Home basic.

What does this mean??? I was already a little bummed finding no visible difference between Windows 7 64 bit and Vista 32 bit. Now this makes me wonder if there IS anything like Home Basic 64 bit.

It's only Windows 7 Starter that does not come as 64-bit.

Visually speaking, there is little difference from Windows 7 to Vista. However, the benefits will be "seen" as you go on using the system.

Thanks guys. On this link Compare Windows - Microsoft Windows under the Feature Comparison Tab in Performance group the 64 bit support is unchecked for Home Basic. This is Microsoft's official website with India as region.

Whereas on the U.S. official Microsoft Website it shows 64 bit supported.
So I guess I'll believe what dxdiag says. It is Genuine 64bit. Thanks for the references.

Thanks for the link. Yeah I see the confusion, but as you say, your version says 64-bit.

FYI, you don't need to go the the dxdiag to see what version of Windows you're running. Just right click computer, Properties.....

Of course. I knew that. I just prefer going to dxdiag to get all the other basic info at once.
