what does evaluation copy means ??

hi all....i have "windows 7 evaluation copy. build 7260" written on the lower right corner of my desktop....can anyone tell me what "evaluation copy" means ?
i have already activated windows 7 with the genuine key provided by microsoft...:S

It means it's not a final version of windows7, it's for evaluation and testing purposes.

ok thank you sooo much...
but i have windows vista homw basic genuine purchased from microsoft....in that desktop too...it is written "evaluation copy" :S

With Vista i believe that running a beta copy of the Service pack SP2 did put this message on the desktop - If this is the case you can remove it by uninstalling the Beta SP2 and installing the release version which is now available

When i installed 7600-1385 i run "winver" and there is nothing stating its an evaluation copy, and it has no expiration date. Is this an "unlimited build"? :p
