    Lost Files

    Hi,
I tried to update the firmware of my SSD (C drive) and I then planned to reinstall Windows. To prevent any mistakes I disconnected my other drives.
The update was unsuccesful (another story) and I reconnected all drives and rebooted original Windows installation.
My problem is that I have lost all content from Public Pictures and Public Videos which I had located on one of these other drives (F) The folder structure is still there but each subdirectory is empty. Oddly, Public Music is still ok.
Things aren't disasterous as I have a backup elsewhere but ideally I would like the originals back & to know what's going on. Perhaps a permision error?
I tried RecoverMyFiles recovery program and it reported lots of the missing as 'LostFiles'. I haven't fully looked at these results yet though (and don't wish to pay for program).
Is there a simpler fix? Thanks

When you plugged the drives back in; assuming more than 2; did you make sure you plugged them in the right order. It is very easy to swap drives and have something like this happen. Double check your connections.
