Refreshing desktop

Hi. I'm experiencing some weird stuff. This is my second installations of windows 7 build 7000. The first was cracked, and now this is a genuine beta. In both i have the same problem:
Sometimes let's suppose i'm extracting files from winrar, when it finishes, nothing shows on desktop. If i click refresh, then my stuff shows up. This is the same when downloading a file, it shows only when i refresh! any ideas on what's going on? i would say it was my fault, but this is tthe second installation....it's totally clean.
Anyway, if i reboot the computer this issue is gone. but it appears from time to time

I get the same thing from time to time, I would say it's worth sending some feedback to Microsoft about it, hopefully it will be resolved by the final release or even better with an Update.

Sounds like a video driver issue to me. I would try to reinstall your driver because it could have something to do with it. If your using NVIDIA be sure to complete your Windows Updates or try the NVIDIA beta driver from their site.

I had this issue from time to time on Vista. I haven't had it since my upgrade to 7 though. Video drivers are most likely the culprit.

Did you check for the drivers from Nvidia's website? They have the most up to date drivers, including the beta ones for Windows 7.

Well, it could just as well be some refresh bug in 7. I assume Windows should refresh your desktop every once in a while and maybe that's just not happening.

I know this question has been asked before - I have briefly searched the forum but haven't seen a definitive answer.. Most threads are pretty 'old' so I'm pretty sure most know the answer.. Desktop Keeps Auto-Refreshing
I've recently started having an issue whereby my desktop icons (and by extension the icons in the start bar) keep refreshing. It's not a constant thing - usually several minutes pass between refreshes - and I'm not entirely sure what's triggering it or why it keeps on happening, still less how to...
