Device Manager Will Not Launch, with system default shortcuts?

I click on Start go to Computer, Right Click then left click on Device Manager. Then nothing happens, huh? I try it again the look at my system and the CPU light blinks a few but not long and still nothing. I put the icon on the desktop and do the same thing, nothing. I type in Device Manager then it bring it up. It works that way but the shortcut is broken that is in the system. Any idea on how to fix this?

    Hello Zak,

This may be able to help fix "Manage" on the Computer button context menu.

Manage - Fix "File does not have a program associated"

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Well, it was worth a try.

One last try for a easy fix. Download and merge the lnk (LNK) option in the tutorial below to restore all of the default association for shortcuts (lnk), and try clicking on Manage again after the restart.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

If it still will not work, then you might consider doing a system restore using a restore point dated when you believe that "Manage" did work.
