This morning something has happened to my Win 7 install. I'm running 32-bit Win 7 Pro which I installed using the Win 7 Pro Upgrade disk. Everything was running fine but now I have the following:

    1. When booting, instead of the circling blue/red/green/yellow dots above the "microsoft corporation", I have a horizontal bar (looks like a rendering of a slot) w/ green bars tracking from left to right.

    2. Since my install I have had occasional problems w/ startup which I have repaired by going into the repair utility on boot by tapping the F8 key and then running "Repair Startup". Now when I tap the F8 key when booting I'm taken to the Advanced Boot Options screen and not the repair screen.

I'm not sure how to proceed. Should I run sfc/scannow? Can I, if need be run a Repair install using my Win 7 Upgrade disk?

Any suggestions on how to remedy these 2 problems?

Well I ran sfc /verify only and it came up clean.

    1) A: Check your Video card drivers.

    2) A: Yes, you can run Startup Repair from DVD.
