Win 7 not booting normally

Hi all,

i had a win 7 installed on HP DC7800. It was working fine
  1. I moved the HDD of 7800 to HP 7900
  2. The machine didnt boot at first but after 3 attempts it booted & was working fine
  3. After a week i again removed the same HDD from 7900 and put it into 7800
  4. When i attempted to boot normally the windows logo appears & then a blank screen comes
  5. I am able to boot in safe mode
  6. Tried - Enable VGA Mode, Disable all Startup Items, Load Basic Drivers (Msconfig) but still same problem
  7. I am only able to to work in safe mode and not normal mode
  8. When i put the same HDD in 7900 it works fine but on 7800 it doenst
  9. Looks like the OS Remembers the hardware!!

I also tried win 7 repair option, system restore but nothing works.

Someone kindly assist how to troubleshoot this

Step Zero. Windows does not take kindly to being moved to different hardware while installed.

Step Zero.One. It sounds like you may have some graphics drivers giving you problems. I am assuming the video chip is integrated into the motherboard and the board in the 7800 is different than the 7900.

Step One. Try downloading the latest graphics drivers from HP (unless you know what brand of onboard graphics you have as well as what motherboard chipset you have, in which case you may find them at your chipset manufacturer's Web site) and installing them. If you can get the Windows Logo (pre-graphics drivers) or into Safe Mode (Windows crude VGA driver) that's where I'd head first.

Why does 7 ask for a P/W when you hit F-8 while booting up?
I painted myself into a corner by using F-8 on bootup when the 'balls" are ready to form into the Windows 7 logo. 7 continually asked me for a P/W and on reboot the same thing happened over and over again. There was NO way to recover from this mistake and I had to restore a good image to make...

HDD not booting up
Hi, I'm running Win7 on my PC 24/7, and I suspect that some of my SATA ports are failing. It takes 1-2s in the AHCI detection menu during the bootup to detect my HDDs when plugged into certain SATA ports. My boot HDD, a WD Caviar Black 2TB, was plugged into a suspected failing port, and when...

Booting XP cd not possible?
I just spent about an hour trying to downgrade my laptop with Windows 7 to Windows XP, using the old fashioned way, but discovered that Windows 7 doesn't allow the setup from XP to run? I cannot manage to start my XP cd over the harrdisc boot. The reason I want to downgrade to XP again is the...

W7 only booting with DVD
I did not know where to post it, but since I guess the problem is related to the setup and installation process I'll leave it here, feel free to move the thread though. I downloaded W7 from DigitalRiver, made a bootable .iso, burned it and started the setup. I then formatted C: where Vista was...
