moving settings from old 7 pc to new 7 pc

Hi all, an old fart, die-hard win7 fan here. just bought another win7 pc...new...i want to move from my old win7 to the new one and would like to keep all my settings i have made over the years. is there a way to do this? or do i have to go thru all the one at a time settings all over again? i can set up all the programs again but system settings are hard to find.
good to be back here. thanks for any answers....

Welcome to the forum. are you going to still use the old pc? You can copy the hard drive with free imaging software and your new pc will be the same as the old but you may run into trouble if the old one is still used as one may not acivate. Unless the new pc is vastley different winodws should find new drivers ok

There are lots of tutors on Youtube how to do it Clone/Copy EVERYTHING including Windows from old hard drive to a new one step by step (Easy way) - YouTube

yes, will be using both pcs

hi, yes, i will still be using both win7 pcs. i know i cant just install an image from the old to the new as the operating system id would not work. have been looking at easy transfer and see that it will move some settings but no programs. but that still would help.

samuria....a question again. windows. if i have two pcs...both using win7pro...one new, one old. if i want to transfer files and settings from one to the other...i know they have windows easy transfer and i can pick and choose what to move...but no programs get installed.

heres my question: can i do this: make a c drive macrium image of old pc....take this to the new pc and restore image with same macrium. since the microsoft numbers are different, they would not let me do this...but if i have the new numbers, would i get a microsoft prompt to put in id number? and would thus have a perfect clone of the old pc. i think you get my drift if a little crude... dont know where i could go to get a question answered like this but here...thanks for any input...i have a feeling this wont fly...hahah

    1. An image restored to a different pc might boot up ok, but it depends how different the hardware is. There are tools for adjusting to different hardware.
    here is an older example:
Make Windows 7 bootable after motherboard swap

    2. You would be prompted to reactivate on a different pc. If you have a license key for the new pc, you can enter it as usual
