PC does not wakeup
I generally leave my PC on during the day but lately after an hour or so it will not wake up.
I have tried varying the sleep time but it makes no difference.
I end up re-booting.

Can be a number of things.
Try switching between S1 and S3 in your bios.
PSU getting old - not supplying enough current to wake up pc.
On older motherboards you have to move a jumper or two to get the mouse/keyboard (plus bios settings) to enable pc wake-up. (It's in the manual).
Usual one is a problem with graphic card badly written drivers (interfere).
Have you had a good look thru your Win7 'power' settings in control panel?
Are you attempting 'sleep' suspend to ram, 'hibernate'?
Are mouse/keyboard/hid drivers enabled (in computer management) to wake pc??
Thanks for the reply:
The PC is a 1 year old Packard Bell
I have looked at the Power settings and they are the same as before.
Sleep mode.
According to Device Manager the items you refer to are working properly.

Go to
>start
>accessories
>right click "Command prompt" run as admin
> on black screen copy this and paste or type in
> powercfg -devicequery wake_armed
tell us the results
(careful which mouse button you press when 'armed' - you might set off a ballistic somewhere )
Your computer is dying :)
