Error 5 when starting BFE

    Error 5 when starting BFE


    McAfee keeps warning me that firewall is off. I turn it in.
    Cant' start firewall 8007042c
    cant start BFE error 5: Access is denied
    ran SFC/SCANNOW from command prompt - all verified

    SERVICE_NAME: BFE

    Hi Charles and welcome to the Forum.
    I think the concensus of opinion on this Forum would be to un install McAfee (see here: How to uninstall or reinstall supported McAfee products using the Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR)) and in stall Microsoft Security Essentials.
    In the meantime it looks as if you have two Firewaals in conflict, McAfee and Windows. Try disabling one of them.
