Accessing Icons Library for Windows 7

Hi all, does anyone know if there is a way or a place to get a complete set of Windows 7 icons? I am developing some eLearning modules and would find the images useful but I need the larger versions - I'm assumng they are .png files at some level or .ico files with multiple size versions embedded.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi SteveNixon and welcome to Seven Forums.

The images are in a DLL file C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll you will need a program to extract them. I use IcoFx which can be found here. IcoFX - The Free Icon Editor

It allows you to extract them as icon files and to save individual files either as standalone ICO files or export an icon as an image file. PNG is one of the formats supported.

If you just want the png file images, there's a very good, almost complete set over on dA.

Windows 7 RC1 Fullsize PNG's by Spewboy.

That will save you trying to extract the (256x256) png images from the icons.
