Recycle bin changes behaviour

Hi guys,

last few minutes I started experiencing something weird. When I drag something to the recycle bin it doesn't "drop" the file inside. Instead it immediatly asks if i want to delete the file permanently. I searched all over the net and forums and found no similar topic.

Don't know if this could be related but a few minutes earlier I experienced a "Explorer.exe stopped working". Windows recovered by itself.

Any clues?

Much appreciated

Hi Codename47. Welcome.

Have you tried restating your system? Also, have you checked to see if your Recycle Bin is full?

Hi guys, thanks for the response. I did try restarting it. Didn't solve it. I also checked the properties of it and that's not it either.
However there is a new symptom. After I restarted it I got a pop-up message saying "The Recycle Bin for the drive C: is corrupted. Do you want to empty the recycle bin for this drive?" What do I do? How am I suposed to empty it when there is nothing inside? Is this a virus? I just ran BitDefender and after an hour it deleted 3 infected files.

The problem still occurs though.

Hi guys. I just solved it ( it seems)
I ran CMD.exe as admin and typed the following code "rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin"
Seems to have solved it so far.
