    Accidently deleted my downloads folder

One time I accidentally put a shortcut of my downloads on my desktop, and then deleted it and it deleted my whole downloads folder. Fortunately, I had a backup and got everything back. But programs like Opera and Bittorrent think my downloads is on my desktop. Is there anyway I could change this?

    Hello Craig,

Double check using the tutorial below to make sure that your C:\Users\(user-name)\Downloads folder is set to it's default location. It sounds like it may be set to the Desktop instead.

User Folders - Restore Default Location

    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
This might work. If the programs have trouble targeting where its run files are, go to the properties and target it. Or the best way is just to reinstall those applications. The target thing is exactly what brink said.

Can't you just go to C:\Users\Your Name and create another one?

Then just redirect those programs back to it.

Or you try this method too,

I deleted the desktop folder in my personal folder

OK, I downloaded the registry key from that tutorial and Opera is downloading to the correct folder :)
