I know that build 7600 isn't RTM, but nevertheless, it IS a new build, so it should have something improved. I think someone around here should have it installed and is able to provide feedback about it.

Either one of them will be my main and only OS, I mainly do gaming on this PC, but also listen to music, browse the web, watch movies and some school work sometimes, so keep that in mind.

I really need to replace Vista, either by XP or 7.

Ok if your choices are xp or win 7 its a no brainer. Win 7. If I had your computer I would probably install 7264 untill RTM comes out which should be soon or if you can wait a week or to wait. Thats what Im doing

    Hope this helps

I am speaking for myself now and it's not really an advice ... I installed 7600 and will do an upgrade when RTM is done and leaked. Not a good ideea ussually but since 7600 and RTM are so closely released, there can't be any significant changes that can screw things over. I repeat, this is what I will do , not what I advice.

I run 7260 64 bit. Until I see REASON to upgrade to 7600 (a pre rtm version) I'd hold off. Haven't seen anything on here that screams "7600 is so much better than 7260!"

Yeah, but then again the OP is asking about this build and XP, then the answer is easy, this one. In fact, It might even be that there will be only minor changes, and that a legitmate key will activate this one. Otherwise reinstall, but choosing XP now, will also need the same thing.

Yes & same as the leak 7264 doesnt accept RC keys youll only can use the re-arm solution so you will have 120days instead of 30 days..

I had 7264 activated. It was my 5th or 6th install of Win7 builds. I had virtually no issues, certainly no showstoppers.

I just installed 7600 - clean, no WAIK. IE8 issues galore. Mouse issues. Buzzing sound. I will spend about 15 more minutes trying to isolate and solve, but I see 7264 in my future.

Bassman, read the forum. Click Search if necessary. But, no.
