Does this happen for all files or just a handful of files in a particular folder?

That happens when the file is somehow moved or deleted, but the corresponding record was not changed yet. Usually a refresh - or re-login - would simply get rid of the phantom file. Of course in this case you would not be able to open the file either.

Can you open the file in question or you are getting the same error message when you try to open the file?

I would agree that it is because the file has been deleted but the record has not. You might be able to recover the file by using a recovery program. i would suggest trying one from ninite.com

Hi, tryTHIS to see if it is of any help. It appears you have deleted the file(s) and this should help you recover them.

Hello DeemSLeep, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if this may fix this error for you. It's for Vista, but should apply to Windows 7 as well.

If not, then as a test, create a new administrator account to see if it works properly in it. If so, you could just copy over what you want from your old user account's folders to the new account's, and delete the old account if you like when finished.

It doesnt apply to windows 7 because in step 2, you have to download vista registry files and i have windows 7, i doubt those registry files will work..also i tried creating a new admin account but the problem continues there as well

Please give the REG file a try. It should apply to Windows 7 as well.
