They probably were from a previous OS, or owner. Take ownership should do it. Find out how in tutorials (under take ownership)Take Ownership Shortcut
i did take ownership but that didnt do it what has done it was to cut the files and paste them in a folder on the desktop the re cut them bsck to the original location it has unlocked them and no padlocks showing.ah well im glad they are fixed.
In fact, I've been having problems with Foxit's Phantom PDF printer allowing me to print and save pdfs to certain folders I have full access to and never have access denied for anything other than the pdf print. It was driving me nuts, as I was previously able to print pdfs there and had changed no permissions or security settings. I planned to post to foxit's forum at some point.
I just employed this method and it immediately resolved the issue. the Phantom print driver now prints to those directories without issue!
Well, that just saved me some time and headaches. What do I do now? I'll be using this in the future!
