    Hello Msongs,

You can right click on the Recycle Bin and create a shortcut for it, then move that shortcut to the Start Menu All Programs area. Afterwards, you can remove the Recycle Bin icon from the desktop to have a clear desktop.

    Hope this helps,

    Solved!

I was as annoyed as you were about this and just now found a perfect workaround to put the recycle bin to the taskbar. So I thought I would go through the trouble of registering to this forum to share it with you.

On this forum I found a way how to get old Quick Launch back:

Quick Launch - Enable or Disable

" Quick Launch Toolbar. Windows 7 made an attempt to remove the quick launch. There is still a way to bring it back in current builds. To re-enable it, do the following:

    * Right-click the taskbar, choose Toolbars / New Toolbar
    * In the folder selection dialog, enter the following string and hit OK:
    %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
    * Turn off the “lock the taskbar” setting, and right-click on the divider. Make sure that “Show text” and “Show title”
are disabled and the view is set to “small icons”.
    * Use the dividers to rearrange the toolbar ordering to choice, and then lock the taskbar again. "

After doing this you can easily place recycle bin or any other icon there. The bin works just fine so you can drag and drop anything there to delete it.

Thanks for taking the time to share that with us but as it happens we already have a Tutorial on this ever since it was removed in earlier builds. Quick Launch - Enable or Disable

His link is to our Brinks own tutorial.
I think he was just indicating to the OP that there was a another alternative than Brinks suggestion.
He could have just left the link, of course, without the copied contents.
