    Keeping an application window at the front of desktop

    I've looked all over and have no idea if this is even possible...Is there any way to keep an application (pinned or unpinned) so that it always stays on top of other windows? I'd like to keep for instance a chat window or a news ticker on top of everything else. It's getting kind of annoying having to alt-tab, Windows-tab or using aero peek on the taskbar to get back to a window I'd rather just have at the top.

    Any solution you know of?

    Well yes its called always on top, and basically we need to know what app it is to see if it will do that.

    Google Talk specifically. There are no options in the settings for this to the best of my knowledge

    Always on Top: Keep Any Window Visible Always

    Works great though I almost never use it.

    To get started, download the Always On Top utility from box.net (<200k) and run it. Then select the window you like to keep on top and press the Ctrl+Space shortcut to stick that window in the front.
    You no longer have to worry about arranging windows side-by-side to copy-paste information from one window to another.
    If you like to disable sticking and restore the default window behavior, just press the same Ctrl+Space shortcut again.
    The program is written in Autohotkey with a single line of code:
    ^SPACE:: Winset, Alwaysontop, , A

    I use Direct Folders as a productivity tool. It includes a feature, RIGHT CLICK the Close Button (upper right corner) to toggle always on top function.

    RIGHT CLICK the Min/Max button will roll window into its Title Bar.

    RIGHT CLICK or Double Click the Desktop (or blank Explorer pane) for a user defined directory/app "jump list".

    Free. 64-bit version available. 2 or 3 meg memory. Pro version available.

    One of my "must have" apps.

    From the makers of TeraCopy, with which I have a love/hate relationship. This app needs an update for Win7, IMO.

    Just don't forget you set a window on top - freaky when you forget, like I just did. Zig but no zag ;-)
