    Startup Hang

Has anybody had a problem with Windows startup hanging?

I get past the Windows is Starting screen then my screen stays black with no Wallpaper but I can see my taskbar, although not all my icons are on it.
CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to bring up task manager and ending Explorer.exe brings up the wallpaper and then manually restarting Explorer.exe via the Run command brings up the desktop icons and the taskbar as it should.

    Anybody have this problem yet?

I had it happen to me once. Happened to me alot on XP. It usually resulted in seven when I ran a crack or watermark remover, but also when I started in safe mode with networking.

    Edit: I meant twice.

I've had it happen for various reasons in other Operating Systems due to drivers or software hanging the startup but it just started happening with Windows 7 Beta for no reason. I hadn't installed or uninstalled anything since the previous reboot.

How did you fix the problem in Windows 7 Beta?

It's probably your nVidia graphics card drivers. Some people have had this problem. I believe there is some reference to it in here.

Actually I had just installed the Windows 7 Beta Prerelease WDDM 1.1 drivers from Windows Update before this happened. So should I go back to the most recent Vista 64bit drivers which were working?
