    Mac/PC transfer question

    Hey everyone,

I've been transferring all my stuff from my mac to my new Asus laptop and need some help:

    1. I have an external hard drive with firewire 400/800 cables but NO firewire on my new PC - how do I transfer all of my music over to my PC??

    and also

    2. I have the full Adobe Create Suite CS4 DVD(s) w/ registration code for MAC - Can I sell this online or did I already use up the registration code when I installed it??

    THANKS!!!

Buy, beg or steal a firewire to USB adaptor to connect your external hard drive to your computer.

Providing you haven't de-activated your Adobe software too many times you can sell it as the serial number is going with it. I'm not absolutely certain, but I think you can de-activate CS4 up to 25 times before Adobe starts complaining.

Just make sure you de-activate it before you uninstall it. If you have already uninstalled it without de-activation, you'll need to install it once more, and then de-activate it.

    1. I suppose the stupid answer would be to get a new hard drive, lol. So without just buying a new hard drive, I do have a suggestion: Windows SkyDrive at SkyDrive.com. However, there are 3 limitations to this.
    a. You are only given 25GB. But hey, for free online storage, that's a lot!
    b. Each file is limited to 50MB.
    c. You can only upload 200 files per batch.
Still, all in all not bad. This is of course assuming that the Mac is still up & running & both can connect to the internet.

    2. Yes, the registration code will work if used again, even on a different Mac, for a different user. (Follow SeaVixen's instructions for deactivation though.) Yes, you can sell it. Maybe online. When I tried to sell an old old old copy of a Corel WordPerfect DVD on eBay, my listing got removed & I got an e-mail saying I was trying to "steal" from the company because I am not an authorized reseller. I still don't understand how I am not allowed to sell my own junk, but whatever. I sold it at a flea market instead.
