I am using Windows Live Essentials 2009 version.
I would assume you two using the 2011 version ?
Ah - yes, mine is 2011 edition, so that could well be it.

There may be some options in the Gallery program itself to set it as default for certain file types.

Thank you.
I have MS Office Picture Manager, and I do aware of its existence.
I am not much of a photo-editing person.

Weird.
Not that it matters at all, but is there a way to insert Gallery into the list ?
Just curious. I won't lose any sleep on this.

Hello
If you use Windows Live Essentials you can install one or more of the programs. I chose WLM as my email client and the Windows Live Photo Gallery.
Along with that I have MS Picture Manager from my Office 2010.
I find the Windows Live Photo Gallery to be more versatile and better than the MS Office program.

If Windows Photo Gallery is installed you will see it under Programs as Windows Live Essentials. You will also see it under default programs which you then can create as your default program.

I hope this helps
Peter.
