Performance meter and new HDD
Hi All, brand new to the forum and lots of useful information.
Let me just say that I am running dual boot Windows 7/XP system.
I just have a question maybe others have had. I just bought a WD Sata Caviar Black 500gb HDD to replace an old EIDE drive which is drive C: which has Windows 7 installed, XP is on D:. I formatted the new drive and then used Acronis True Image to clone the Windows 7 drive to the new one. I did get sector read errors at the end of the process and just ignored thinking it might be an access problem while doing this in XP. IT booted up ok in Windows 7 but when trying to rerun the performance tests it fails on the Harddrive saying it might be a driver problem. Is anyone else getting this or should I check out the new drive for bad sectors or other errors? any suggestions are helpful...THX, and great site...
