How to re-size icons on desktop and taskbar?

Yesterday, I upgraded my Vostro 1500 laptp from WinXP to Win7 without any problem except for icon size. Correct grahpic driver (GEForce 8400M GS) for Win7 was also updated. I like the smaller icons size on desktop and taskbar in WinXP with native screen resolution of 1280 x 800. After converting to win7, the screen size was also restored to 1280 x 800 too. But the icons size on both desktop and taskbar is rather bigger in Win7. (Text size is just fine). I could not resize the same icon size as in Win XP. I tried to change but 9 point Segoe UI at 96pixels per inch is default in Win7. The scale to the percentage of normal size is 100% or above, not less than 100%. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Just right click the open space on the desktop and choose view - small icons.

    Hi

For desktop icons: Right click the desktop >> select the view option >> then select small icons.
For Taskbar: Right click the start menu >> select properties >> under the Taskbar tab check the box " use small icons"

Hopefully this is what you are referring to.

Thank you. I am now able to resize the taskbar icons.
For desktop icons, "Smaller icon" is alread default setting under VIEW. But icons are much bigger than those in WinXP.

i think the size you set on desktop would be the size for all shortcuts regardless of when added.
