impossible to copy or move files

    Hi all,

I have a few PST files in a folder on my C drive. I cannot copy or move my files on a D drive or an external hard disk.

I tried to use several user accounts which are all of them members of Admin group but unfortunately special permissions are still required.

By reading a few posts on this site, I used takeown -f and icalcs.exe c:\ /grant Administrator:F commands with no success. (The commands are processed successfully).

I booted under Linux and tried to move the files with no success again.

    What's wrong?

i don't know what could do now?

    Thanks for your help,

    Olivier

    thanks Shawn for quick answer,

I already move the PSt files from its original location. There are now in c:\test.

I cannot do more but I will try your sync tool.

    Best regards,

You said that you took ownership of the files, but did you also set the permissions of the files to Allow your user account Full Control of them as well before trying to copy/move them?

    yes Brink,

I used accessenum from systernals (MS) and I found my account with a deny access when scanning the Registry of the current user. The only right with write access is Administrators. The PC was used in a corporate environment before I owned it.

When creating my account, I put it member of Admin group.

Whee seeing the permissions, I can see I have a full access.

As said previously, i used icalcs in addition to takeown.

Bitlocker is off but it is as though there was a king of protection. (please see enclosed screenshot)

    Any idea?

I'm not sure what may have been set for it or how to unset it since it was in a corporate environment. You might see if using the built-in Administrator account may be able to do so.

I did it with no success.

speaking from your experience, is it normal to see the permissions as described in my previous screenshot provided?

I'm afraid that I'm not familiar with a corporate environment, so I really couldn't tell you what would be normal for it.

You haven't told us what happens when you try to move or copy files. What is the error message(s) you are getting?
