Open Recycle Bin > select all the files that are inside the bin > look at the bottom of the window, it shows you total items selected, as well as total size.

Is there a specific reason you need to know the total file size of files in the recycle bin?

Or do like Zigzag said, take them back out and then you can see the size.

Shows individual and total size for me at the bottom, just selecting the files. No right clicking needed.

This is pretty odd - and I think a bit buggy. Mine did not display the total space either. So I played with the view settings and only when I select the "Tile" option did I see the total space consumed. And very oddly, if an Internet shortcut was included (highlighted) then the total was not displayed. Deselect the Internet shortcut, and the total (less the shortcut) was displayed again. Very odd. So you might try deselecting, or purging any Internet shortcuts first, then see if it works.

I think I will report it to MS. The more that do, the more likely it will be addressed.

Better solution....empty it, then you won't have to worry about the size, it will be 0.

Yeah. I only had 6 things in there because I decluttered a couple days ago. Luckily, one was an Internet shortcut.
