    How do I rename this Folder?

    It's under Local Disc C -> Users

    it's says Public and then "Cam" which I want to change to my name of the laptop.

    I got my laptop fixed a couple of weeks ago, and the technician restored it and i guess renamed all the important files "cam". I've changed my username in Control Panel but that didn't seem to change the file in Users.

    Here is a screenshot :

    Cam is the name of the user account.
    You should be able to go to user accounts in the control panel and change the name of the user account there by clicking the appropriate link.

    You may be prompted by both uac and to verify as well as be required to enter the admin password to do this.

    I've tried that many times, while it does change my username on login and in the startmenu it does not change the name of that one folder. help.

    More than likely to prevent system associations to the account from being messed up.
    It's possible the only way to get around this is to create a whole separate user account.
    Changing the name of that folder will more than likely mess up your entire account.

    Is there a reason you need that folder changed? My point is, that's a folder you never should be accessing directly.

    Maybe he is willing to change his username throughout the system .... in logon screen, in start menu, and everywhere it is being shown

    As I said before so far as I know it's locked to prevent installed programs from breaking when the folder is renamed. Your best option is to create a new account with the name you wanted, and simply delete that one once you are done.

    Go to Control Panel> User Account> change your account name
    Then, you should restart your system in order to make the change effective. For the user account name in the start menu, the new name is immediately effective but for the folder name in the local C, it will be effective after reboot.
    Tell us if this would solve your issue.
