Windows 7 - 7600 16385 = Final RTM after being passed by the vote

Once 7600.16385 is announced officially, it will be released to MSDN / Technet within 1-2 weeks. And followed by that on MVLS on September 1st.

Why they need to make another build if 16385 will pass the vote?

Can we get the source of where the vote was passed today? The one in that link to me is not 100% credible

Yeah, I do not see why they would recompile if 16385 passes.

They will re-compile it as the RTM (labeling issues...that type of thing)

To ensure application compatibility, the build string needs to align the sub-string to the same as that of Vista’s build string. - So it will have to be 16386.

Not to mention deleting: \sources\ei.cfg...

Not only that but they would not want RM to have been in the wild for several days before it is confirmed as Gold (RTM).
The re-compile will change all the dates, dig sig and Hash codes.
Once they have announced RTM they will not be overly fussed if it leaks....as once it hits Technet, MSDN, Connect it is going to be on every torrent site in the known universe anyway.

Very true...the moment it leaves their mouth that it has RTM and just a couple of partners acquire it...it will take to the internet by storm
