    .Rar files


    Hi,
    I am having trouble in extracting .rar files larger than 3GB ....I tried different extracting softwares ....the .rar is perfect working on other PC(winxp) but when extracting here in 7 32-bit it's giving some crc error....I tried all possible steps like formatting, HDD and other...

    Note...I saw same topic in forum but didn't understand the solution....please reply.

    Either the rared file is corrupt, you can test by transferring the file to the other computer and try unraring there.

    Or winrar itself is corrupted, try re-downloading and reinstalling winrar.

    Other possible culprits could be your antivirus software, try disabling auto protection or exiting the AV temporarily, then extract the file.

    As an alternative, try extracting the file with 7z or Izarc.

    If this is an older version of winrar, you can also try downloading the latest.

    One thing to remember is that if this is not some critical data, you can check the box "Keep broken files" under Miscellaneous after clicking on Extract to. E.g. if this is a video/audio, doing this might give a small glitch somewhere but the rest of the file may be fine.
