    Somthing wrong with my hd


    i dont wont to reinstall again i just got every thing back up and running. And well i was going to Defrag my hd And I notice another Drive Its in CHINNESE LETTERS! From that fake 7600
    (the Deal is I cant find the drive its showing me...)
    Is there away to maybe sweep my hd and keep files lol and fix this?

    you could try the avira emergency rescue disk. or the bit defender one. They are CD linux based antivirus scans. Dunno if they would help or not. They both allow you to copy data, but avira only has text based tools while bit defender has gui(and a 250 mb download). Download one, burn it, boot with it, clean. Dunno if it'll help.

    If you downloaded a fake OS and installed it and the traces are still there.......

    I recommend nuking the drive.
    Darik's Boot And Nuke | Hard Drive Disk Wipe

    Download and put that on a CD. Boot into it, and wipe your HDD. It will be like brand new afterward. Then reinstall.

    The 2 thigns you want to do are contradictory... you want to wipe the HD, but keep the files

    If you don't have all of your docs/pics/vids/etc already on it, just rebuild the machine with a full format.

    If you do have your stuff on there, just back it up, then rebuild, then restore from whatever method you used to back it up. (2nd HD/Network Location, USB drive, etc...)
