    abandoned user folders

I have a laptop that had the user accounts modified such that
a previous user profile was deleted by the administrator.
I can still see the user name on a folder under the Users folder
on the hard drive. The properties show that there is 121 MB if data
but when I open the folders they are all empty. The info I need is
in the desktop folder for this user.
I have explorer configured to show all hidden files and folders
    Any suggestions

If you're not the administrator, there's not much you can do. Have the admin move the files and assign ownership to you.

Try using the built-in administrator account, which is currently hidden. This account will let you run with full privileges.

Yes, I realise that, but the hidden account I mention will give you full privileges and should enable access to the files you're after.

Talking about yourself in third person confused me.

Take ownership of the folder then move/copy it to where ever you want. Preferably, that would be under your account. If these are Desktop files, don't move it to your Desktop folder; move/copy to a temp-folder and work from there.

It might be possible to restore the files from the Recycle Bin if that hasn't been cleared.
