A stupid question (I think)
This may sound stupid but does windows 7 x64 OEM come with the product key? (I have full version - retail)
Need to be sure as I am building a pc for my dad.

An OEM Windows disc will have a Product Key as will a retail disc.
Just remember that if you buy an OEM disc that proves to be faulty the onus is on the supplier to replace it, not Microsoft and any support must come from the supplier too.
Also, an OEM disc is tied to the computer you installed it on although it has been known for people to successfully use an OEM disc on another computer.
For anyone who buys a computer with an OEM version of Windows the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) should be on a sticker on the outside of the case along with the Product Key.

(Don't worry about it. I assume that many of the System Builder licenses are used by people building machines for their own use. There are no checks.)
bobkn is correct. I built a computer about 6 weeks ago and bought a system builders license. It installed and validated with Microsoft without any problem. Personally, I think Microsoft dosen't care, they just want you to install windows 7. As that article points out, microsoft has confused everyone.
