    Forgot User Account

    hi
I turned off my administrator user account and guest account came on. I did so because I was letting someone use my computer.

When I bought this computer, I have no recall of creating a password. There is a user name and now it simply wants my password to open my administrator user account

Now I can not get back on my administrator account. I tried all my regular passwords. I have no idea what they mean by a floppy disk. The research I did said my only options was to uninstall and the reinstall windows7. This whole thing sucks. Can anyone give me some direction. Is it hard to uninstall windows 7 or is it like uninstalling any other program.

Thanks, Excuse my frustration, I really need to get into my user account and cant continue to use this guest account to get my work done. I have a laptop Acer 64 bit OP Windoes 7. High speed internet with Comcast.

    Thanks Rich,

But as I said I have no discs and the tuitorals explain you need one. I do not own any discs except for a couple of movies. Can anyone explain to a computer newbie with what I posted. Once again, I have NO discs and know little about computers. I cant get to my work for my job. I really dont want to try and explain this situation to a client on Monday

    Thanks

    Give method 3 a try
Reset User Account Password - Vista Forums
Im about to log off, but dont think a CD is needed for solution 3. If wrong, my apologies.
There are two ways to uninstall and install windows.
You must have the install DVD, which you do not
    or
YOu can do a factory restoration, method varies by computer. You will lose everything.

    Thanks Rich,
I fixed it. I feel kind of dumb asking this question on this site. I added positive feedback to ur reputation. Thanks again.
Maybe there is another Rookie out there that could use this information:
All I had to was switch users. There is an option to log off, put computer or switch users. I hit switch user and WALA it game me three options 2 guest accounts and admin. Click on Your Administrator icon and you have reopened the account. I then went to my administrator account and created a new password to the one I always use for everything and then provided myself a hint.
