Windows 7 under $100?

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a legit version of windows 7 for $100 or less? Doesn't matter if its upgrade or full I guess. I have seem OEM's for less but dunno if I should get one or not. I am only looking for it for my one machine here. On windows XP pro atm.

Buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade 32 Bit (OEM Branded), GFC-00020-32brd(4)

Their seller rating is so-so but they apparently do a decent amount of business was cheapest I could find it on short notice.

You can use the tutorials here to learn how to do a full clean install with an upgrade version.

An OEM version is perfectly OK. The only difference to a retail version is that you cannot move it from one system to another - it has to stay on the PC where it was first installed. I run OEM versions on two systems and never had a problem.

I bought another Windows 7 Home Premium OEM two weeks ago from Newegg for $84. They are currently $99.99, but keep looking for their frequent sales. Best is to subscribe to their daily ads.

In order for an Windows 7 OEM to activate, the PCs BIOS must have SLIC 2.1 activation supported. If it is an older PC that version will not activate.

I believe that some student discounts for Windows 7 Pro are still available if you are a college student

I have never heard of that twist. How old does the PC have to be, I activated on 2007 PCs.

I have it activated on a 2002 Dell C640 laptop, and multiple older P4 machines from HP and dell. I have not heard that Windows 7 will not activate on older personal pc's .....news to me. Don't know if Business machines are different but none of mine have had any issues.

Not sure I would want to activate on a pIII (some people have installed on PII's, but not sure that the software was OEM) but I haven't had any troubles with any P4 I have installed on.
