Vaio error/popup

I've been getting the following error/popup every time I start my computer. It's for "Media Gallery MergeModules x64" and it's trying to install something. After I click "OK" I get another error that it cannot find it. If I try cancelling it, I have to cancel it about 10 times before it goes away. Has anyone got the same problem with their Vaio and how do I fix it? I have uninstalled Media Gallery and checked startup items to see if maybe an update couldn't fine the edia Gallery and that waa the problem, but no. I can't do a system restore as I uninstalled months ago and this has just started.

Hi, you could try the following:

- uninstall the program using the Application Manager for VAIO. Perhaps you did the uninstall via Windows and hence the VAIO software is trying to install it again?

- get Autoruns (from Sysinternals, search Google) and look through all the startup items. You might find the problem here

- run CCleaner to analyze your registry and see if any of the issues it finds are related to Media Gallery. This is a long shot, but worth trying

Hope this helps!

Reinstall Media Gallery and uninstall it with Revo Uninstaller in Advanced mode to get all the leftover registry keys: Revo Uninstaller - How toTo Completely Uninstall Programs

Uncheck everything in msconfig>Startup except AV and gadgets, then after several reboots check back to see if anything wrote itself back in, turn it off in it's Preferences or Uninstall.

Next in msconfig>Startup choose "Hide All Ms Services" to see what is running without your knowledge, uncheck, reboot to see what writes itself back in, turn off in Prefs or Uninstall.
