Update - UAC problems

I have problem with the UAC in windows 7.
I was told here to buy an installation disc, but I have not done it yet.

Well, I was surfing Microsoft website and I learned that if you hold Shift while right clicking on an EXE file, you can see "Run as different user" option on the menu.

So I decided to try it... I tried both "Run as different user" "Run as Administrator" on a program. The admin option asked me to enter my admin's password, and so I did but it didn't work.
the "different user" option worked!:)

I want to fix "Run as Administrator".

At least now I can run programs as admin...

But it is not enough, because I still have problem with every action that require admin privileges.

I have one admin account and one standard account.

I don't want to disable UAC...I just want to fix this PROBLEM!!!!

You'll need the Administrator account password then for elevated permission to run something when you're operating from your Standard account.

Are you the Administrator on the computer? If so you can operate under that account without the need for the password.

I created a standard account because I wanted another "layer" of security.
Then, in case I need administrator privileges, I will use my admin account password.

But the problem is that it does not work. And I don't want to reinstall. Isn't there a fix for the associated files?

Try changing or removing the Admin account password in User Accounts, but you will still need to have the correct password.

It did not work...

I tried to access a folder one hour ago - it still "loading"...

Are you running under your Admin account or Standard Account? Try the Admin account.

What folder are you trying to access? Is it hanging or giving an error message?

Try running SFC -SCANNOW Command.
If it will not run from Win7, you may need to run it from Advanced Boot Options as shown here: SFC -SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot

You said you were advised here to find an installation DVD. This may be because you need to run a Repair Install or clean reinstall if this is a corrupted factory install with the preinstalled bloatware and useless factory utilties which can hamper Win7 performance: Reinstalling Windows 7
