Glitchy Mouse Pointer So past week had this odd problem with my mouse pointer. It will sometimes glitch/lag on my desktop screen while I am moving it. Similar to like when you are playing an online game and you experience lag and bounce forward several spots or something like that. Resources are available and cpu is not running high under load. Checked drivers and they are up to date.

Hello, first you can try a System Restore to a point before you noticed the problem.
Also if you don't have it, download CCleaner and run it do get rid of ole temp files and clean your resistry of uneeded entries.
If your mouse is old, it may be worn out or have a dirty ball/optical sensor, depending on which type you have. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Built Desktop By DataTech OS Windows 7 Ultimate X64 SP1 CPU Intel i5-2550K, Differing ~4.4-4.8GHz No built in GPU Motherboard ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz 4x4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old, beat-up Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon Rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans, push-pull, @1300 RPM Hard Drives Crucial M4 128GB for OS, 750GB Seagate MomentusXT for data, 500GB Seagate Constellation for storage Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Antivirus Norton Internet Security Browser IE 9, Opera when needed Other Info 4 case fans, LG BluRay-RE, ASUS DVD-RW, Mr. Fusion power generator with flux capacitor, 1.21 gigawatts. |

Ive used this mouse on both pad and non pad. its a logitech M510, month old of use, fresh batts. NO temp files clogging up . Registry is peachy clean, and no trace of old mouse drivers and software anywhere on or in system. Hooked up old school ball mouse for checks (its so hard to find an adapter to go from usb to ps2), made sure it was clean, cycled the system with it in, checked it for a day, still same issues. So my guess is that its not the mouse. | My System Specs | | OS WIN 7 x64 CPU AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Well that seems to eliminate the mouse. If you installed any Logitech mouseware, uninstall it, reboot and let Windows install a generic driver. Move the Receiver to a different USB port in case the signal is blocked (probably not though).
Run SFC scannow. Restore had no effect. And generic driver from Microsoft also did nothing. Tested heavy in browser today, [Google Chrome, IE9, Firefox] all had same effect but all showed more lag when it seemed that i had more than 5 windows open at once. Did a Mem test not too long ago so there isnt an issue there running scannow turned up nothing | My System Specs | | OS WIN 7 x64 CPU AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. I have a G9 and there are times it just won't work right. It will not track correctly either in a game or on the desktop.
When that happens, I clean the mouse (using compressed air to clear the laser area and wipe clean the bottom), clean the mousepad (I've got one that has a plastic type covering that sometimes gets dirt spots on it that clean easy with Windex and a rag), and reboot.
I usually have to do that every 4-6wks or so depending on usage.
I'm not sure if this is similar to your issue, but when my mouse will not respond those are the steps I take.
