I also had a bad experience years ago. Key words being years ago. I went back to AMD because they pulled a major turn around and have in my eyes far surpassed Intel in performance, price, and customer care.

This is from experience over several years. I have seen a lot of products from both companies and have went back and fourth over the years finally ending up with AMD.

Could I go back to Intel? Not until the prices are drastically reduced the performance comes up and the customer care gets an overhaul.

Windows 7 x64 Enterprise

Running 790gx AM3 with Phenom II 955 and Sapphire HD4890 1Gb and get amazing performance. I chose AMD over intel becausce phenom II's offer better performance in games than the core i7's and gaming is pretty much the only intensive apps I do on my PC. So got a Dragon platform and very happy with it :-)
