    Home Folder Accidentally Hidden

Earlier today I was trying to find some files in my Users folder which contained both the folders "Public" and "Home." I couldn't find the files I was looking for in either of those two folders. I right-clicked on the Home folder, and then clicked on Properties, thinking that the files I was looking for were hidden. I didn't realize that once I clicked on the "hidden" option that my home folder would be hidden; I brain farted and thought that function allowing me to view hidden files. I realized my mistake a few minutes later.

Now I can't see or find my Home folder. How can I unhide it? Thanks.

(my apologies if there is another forum area this question should have been posted to)

Windows doesn't have something called a "Home" folder. Can you be more specific? If you have a user named "Home" that might explain it. Just turn on "show hidden files and folders" and you'll be able to see it and unhide it.

Great info for me to keep on hand. It helped out in conjunction with MacGyvr's response. Thanks.

MacGyvr...I usually try to be specific but this time dropped the ball. "Home" is the user account on this PC my family and I always use. I managed to unhide this folder, but now the icon for my "Home" folder has a lock on it that was never there before. I can go into the folder and all its subfolders. What does this lock mean if I can delete files in this folder, and how do I get rid of that lock?

My understanding is that it has something to do with the fact that the permissions have been changed and/or changed back, but I'm not certain on that. If you search here on the forum for "padlock folders" you should find several threads that will have helpful information.
