Should i run Win7 x64 or x86?

    Hello Fr05te and welcome to Seven Forums.

    My usual disclaimer: I'm not an expert or professional in anything! :)

    Using 64 bit is the way to make maximum use of your RAM. As long as you're not having issues running favorite programs, etc with 64 bit, I'd stay with it. Windows 7 is pretty well optimized out of the box and was designed to make use of available RAM. I read somewheres that unused RAM is wasted RAM. I wouldn't be concerned that it's using 1GB.

    why shouldnt i be concerned? it was the main reason i switched, actually, cause i was hoping it might make a difference

    Windows 7's architecture is different from previous versions. These threads (and other similar threads on Seven Forums) discuss what the "normals" are for this operating system.

    What is the normal RAM usage?
