any other way to speed-up the steps

Hi,
I'm new in this forum and i found many tips here help me a lot.

Q: when we click/open Windows - All Programs, and click each folder it shown 'Empty'.
but actually its there. how to restore it?

i've followed some steps from other topics but i must copy-paste it manually one by one for each shortcut (e.g.: ms.office, real player, etc).
is there any other way to speed-up the steps (from regedit or something)?

note: this is my friend's laptop.

thanks in advance.

Hello Emir, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you mean that they are all hidden, then you could use the commands below in a elevated command prompt from step 8 in the tutorial below to quickly unhide them all.

File and Folder - Hide or Unhide

ATTRIB -H "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\*" /S /D

ATTRIB -H "%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\*" /S /D

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hi Brink,
Thanks for your quick response.

I've followed both steps and it retrieved for some folders.
But not for others like 'Skype', 'Mozilla', 'Nero 7', 'Microsoft Office', 'Tablets PC', 'ESET', etc.

I run it using 'as Administrator'.

Other than manually adding them back one by one, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before doing whatever you did to cause this.

Hi Brink,
Sorry for late respond.
I think better I check with her first. When is the first time she got this issue in order for me to get the nearest restore point.
Other than that better to re-install it again.

Thanks for pointing the result.
Regards,
Emir.
