    Verifying DMI Pool Data?

I got a new desktop PC. It works fine, but on each startup it gives me the line "Verifying DMI Pool Data". It seems to be part of the normal booting process, but my other PC never does that, and when I researched it on the web I read that it might be a serious error. Now I'm confused.

The specs of the new PC are these:
    Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.07GHz
    6GB RAM
    Windows 7 Professional 64bit

Part of the BIOS POST, it can appear when the hardware on your system is enumerated, especially when the information stored in the CMOS is incorrect. Does the BIOS time keep resetting as well?

Not sure about that. Would I notice that in Windows? It's synchronizing automatically with an internet clock.

You need to check that from within the BIOS itself. Press F2 or Del or Esc when you boot up (the key to press should be displayed on the screen and should also be listed in your motherboard manual).
