I have an SSD which currently has my OS installed (Win7 professional) I only have 6GB of space left and I want to install some games on my SSD, is it possible to move some windows files over to my HDD which has 1TB storage available?
Move your music, documents, pictures, etc.
If you don't use hibernate you can turn that off. That will free up a file the same size as your installed RAM.
powercfg -h off
You can also move your page file over to the HDD. Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced System Settings, Performance Settings, Advanced, Virtual memory.
ALso, check and see how much space system restore is consuming. Right click My Computer, Properties, Advanced System Settings, System Protection, Highlight C, configure, change the percentage.
Do not try to move ANY system files. System restore, your page file, movies, music, documents, and some programs that don't require HDD speed to perform well can be moved (programs I am pretty sure still must be reinstalled to the new drive after being uninstalled).
I should set my SSD which has windows 7 on it to "no paging file"? and my HDD that is used for storage to "no paging file" or "System manage size"?
My SSD currently has 12GB free and I need around 15GB for WoW apparently, so there goes my luck unless the page file will remove a few gig.

I recommend having at least a small paging file on your main drive (C). You could put a system managed paging file or make your own size on the other one as well if need be. Mostly, I wouldn't bother messing with the paging file, as it is quite needed, and better off on the main drive.
Also, windows update over time will keep adding to your already small storage space. I would recommend buying a new SSD or just using your HDD. SSD will speed up load times, but it isn't critical for any game.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, windows update allready took around a couple of GB from doing updates since i put this rig together, thanks for the replies guys i'll just use my HDD for games.
it's OK to move those "Library" files over.. like MyDocs, MyMusic, etc over to the HDD
but keep your page-file on the SSD - it's more efficient there..
BTW - my pagefile is set at 800MB in size
- that's with 6GB RAM onboard..

yep, that's OK - you only need the one on the SSD..
I always keep about 10GB of the SSD free, so that it can do it's housekeeping efficiently..
PS: another tip to remember is to occasionally leave your PC
idling at the log-in screen for a couple of hours - this will allow the OS enough
time to do the full house-keeping sweep on your SSD..
- I do mine about once a month - this will keep the SSD running efficiently
- in fact, you can gain a coupla decimal places in your WEI by doing this..
