Can't Find Local Users and Groups in Computer Management

    Hi,

While trying to set-up a SQL Server account in Computer Management I've discovered that "Local Users and Groups" doesn't exist under System Tools tree. I select Start > Computer (right click) > enter admin. password > Computer Mgmt. opens and under System Tools there is no listing for "Local Users and Groups". Any help will be appreciated. Running Windows 7 multi-booted with several Linux distros on a Dell Inspiron 530S Desktop.

    Hello Gdawg,

I'm sorry, but Local Users and Groups is not available in the Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, and Home Premium editions.

    Sorry.

What specific setting were you trying to set? There may be an alternative way of doing it in your edition of Windows 7.

Upgraded to Professional version. I had been considering the upgrade any way. Thanks for your help.

That'll certainly take care of that.

    You're most welcome.
