    Shift key issues

    currently i'm running into a big issue. i'm using a logitech g110 keyboard that has passed all tests, and is properly working on other computers. what i'm not getting is why the shift keys aren't working with this computer. i've reinstalled all drivers, and used vision diagnostics from hp and the keyboard still passes.

    whats happening;

    seemingly at random both shift keys will suddenly stop working, i'm generally a soft typist so i don't knock them around, and the keyboard is kept clean and has had no spills on it.
    on restarts the keys will work properly then all of a sudden poof, wont work. i've tried other usb ports, the same issue occurs. i'm really lost at this point, the keyboard is working perfectly on other pc's, and any other keyboard i attach eventually run's into this issue, hp's own stock board is a victim to this goof up.

    i'm using an hp pavilian p6720f desktop thats running windows 7 home premium 64.
    any help would be amazing.

    Been there, seen that (but it was years ago). The problem is likely a surface mounted chip on the motherboard. If so, new mobo is in order. Is your system still under warranty?

    It's seeming to work currently, I searched and searched and finally found that HP has a bios issue with no fix currently, I just have to use the stock keyboard they send me and hope it works until a fix in the bios or I get a new computer..

    So as a future refrence, HP has reported Keyboard related BIOS issues for most of their new models, laptops included, really regretting buying an hp.. The one time i didn't build my own..
