    Can't move the taskbar without hole at bottom of screen


    So I just went from Ubuntu back to Windows 7, and the thing I miss the most is the dock. So I got a dock emulator for windows and decided to move the taskbar to the top of the screen, sort of like Ubuntu. However my problem lies with the way applications maximize. When they do, they leave a gap at the bottom of the screen, where the taskbar was. Now I just want my applications to go full screen, all the way to the bottom. Does anyone know how to go about doing this?

    The shouldn't be doing that at all Is the dock at the bottom of the screen? My guess is it's something to do with that... What dock program is it?

    You right click an empty spot on the TaskBar and drag it to the top of the screen. This removes the reserved space Windows makes at the bottom.

    Otherwise, check through This Thread on StarDock.

    Turns out this is a problem with Xwindows dock. When I close the program it lets things go back to true full-screen, but when it's open it makes room for itself at the bottom of the screen. There is an option in the preferences that allows for a fix. Sorry to bother!
