| XP Pro & Vista Home Premium (x86); Windows Ultimate 7600 x64 Retail 715 posts | I believe you can buy an Windows 7 Pro "Upgrade" and do a clean install on the Vista Ultimate machine efectively "downgrading" from Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Pro. Why do this? .... I can see no real advantage to the Ultimate version for a home user and the Windows 7 Pro Upgrade license is a lot less $$$. If I were not a Technet member I would not even consider the Windows 7 Ultimate. JMO. |
