Unable to switch to another user account

Windows 7 Home Pro 32 bit.

Okay, here's the background. There are 2 accounts "steve" and "sally" on my computer.

For the longest time, my system has been setup to automatically login to "steve" because that's what I use 99% of the time.

This weekend, I removed the automatic login. I never logged into "sally" though.

This morning, I rebooted my computer. It automatically logged into "sally" (without a password prompt). Can't explain why.

If I go to "switch user", it automatically loads "sally" again. If I reboot, it automatically loads "sally".

I've gone into "control userpasswords2" and tried to force a login, but the problem is that it doesn't seem to save the changes I make in here. I CHECKED the box to require username/password to log on. I also went into the other screen and made it so the ALT+CTRL+DEL window appears.

I hit "apply" on all the windows and "ok" on all of the them. When I the screens again, none of the options are saving.

Any ideas?

Welcome.
While in Control userpasswords2, did you select "sally" before checking the require password box?

Hello Kurruptor, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Does the "sally" user account have a password created for it?

If not, and you have "sally" selected in Control userpasswords2, then it could still log on to it automatically even with the require password box checked since it doesn't have a password.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

When the "require" box is already unchecked, you are not able to select anything in the user list.

You can uncheck the box, then you can select an account.

I believe it does, I will double-check.

I've verified that the "sally" account does have a password set.

I think I have an idea of what is happening. I actually changed the password for "sally" and the next time I rebooted and tried to automatically log in... it said the password was incorrect. I may have a third party tool that was set to auto-login.

I've been able to get into my regular account now.
